Description

As a recipient of the DAAD RISE scholarship, I was given the oppurtunity to conduct research on swarm robotics with the Cyber Physical Group at the Universität Konstanz in Germany. The goal of the project was to develop a fleet of autonomous sailboats to be used as a more resilient and eco-friendly alternative to the existing technologies used for oceonographic and limnological studies. Some of the meaningful contributions I made during this internship include writing the complete program for the autonomous sailboat navigation, developing multiple web applications for the recieving and transmission of data to the boats, and physically tuning the boat and implementing the hardware and sensors. As a part of the Center of Excellence for the Advanced Study of Collective Behavior, I was surrounded by accomplished roboticists and computer scientists and cherished the remarkable oppurtunity to learn while contributing to meaningful and innovative research.
